Leah Fellenstein, LPCC-S

Leah has experience providing counseling to children, adolescents and adults in both community mental health and private practice settings. She has a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Capella University and a Bachelor of Arts in Family and Child Development from the University of Akron. Clinical experience includes individual therapy with children, adolescents and adults, group therapy with adolescents in residential treatment, crisis assessment, community psychiatric support treatment services, Intensive Outpatient (IOP) group therapy, and parent consultation. Leah’s training and clinical experience have equipped her to assist individuals experiencing mental health concerns including anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, other anxiety/mood related disorders and trauma. Leah is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy. Leah is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with a Supervisor designation in the state Ohio.

Karen Townsend, LPC

Child and Adolescent Therapist

Karen has a background in education and strong understanding of children and their development. Karen has 9 years of experience working with children and their families in community mental health settings at schools and a domestic violence shelter and joined Abundant Life Counseling in 2020. Karen has a wide range of experience which includes providing individual counseling with students and individual and group counseling with survivors of domestic violence. With a passion for supporting children and their families through difficult circumstance, Karen offers compassionate and competent support to her clients. She specializes in working with kids struggling with anxiety, depression, anger, family stressors, trauma and grief. Karen works with children in individual sessions and provides family sessions as needed. Karen holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from Malone University and a Master of Arts, in Clinical Counseling from Ashland Theological Seminary. Karen is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Ohio. Leah Fellenstein is currently supervising Karen as she works towards her independent counseling license with the state of Ohio.
